Things Said, Learned and Read This Weekend
Said
J: We should name our first born Magatron
Me: Sure. But only if our second born can be named Optimus Prime.
J: That would be awesome. That way they could grow up hating each other.
Me: What colour was Megatron again?
J: Purple and black
Me: So we would dress Megatron in only purple and black, and Optimus Prime in blue and red.
Later that same day…
J: But what if we had a girl? We couldn’t call a girl Megatron.
Me: I think Optimus would be a lovely name for a girl.
Learned
We were driving home from the store and a song came on the radio…
J: We might as well go for a soda
Me: Okay….
J: That’s what they say in the song
Me: What?
J: In the song, they’re saying, “Might as well go for a soda…”
Me: Wait….. what? I’ve always thought they were saying, “Might as well go so that nobody gets hurt…”
J: That would make more sense but I’m pretty sure they are saying soda.
Me: Who sings this song?
J: I think it’s Kim Mitchell
Me: Kim Mitchell? Isn’t he Canadian? Why would he even be saying “soda”?
J: Maybe it’s from before Canadians started using the word “pop”.
Me: I don’t think so, the song is from the 80′s and we’ve been saying “pop” for my entire life. Maybe he thought he could break through to the American market if he used soda.
And sure enough, the song is “Might as well go for a soda” What. The. Hell.
Read
Someone on Facebook was telling a story and it started out like this:
I was out taking my pigeon for a walk…
It doesn’t even matter how the story ended because the opening statement was the most amazing part of the entire story.
Vacation To-Do List
Tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am I will officially be on vacation for one week! I’m pretty excited because J has the week off too so we’ll get to hang out.
I told him last week that I had started a “to-do list” for while I was on vacation. He said, “But you’re suppose to be relaxing all week, not working.” And then I showed him my list:

Pretty action packed, no?
Looks perfect to me
Photos from the Weekend 2/18/13

J bought me these for Valentine’s day:

And here they are today!

And now to finish off the weekend with the Season 3 Finale of Downton Abbey! I hope you all had a great weekend!!
My Boyfriend and BFF at the Golden Globes
Ben Affleck has been my boyfriend for more than a decade. But not really. Though J approves as he’d like to go hang out with Ben and watch Red Sox games.
Also, Jennifer Garner is my best friend. But once again not really. But it makes me happy to pretend she is, and I call her J-Fleck (but only behind her back, because I don’t think she’d appreciate the J-Lo reference).
Ben and Jennifer are my all time fav celeb couple, because really, how often are your pretend boyfriend and pretend best friend actually married in real life?
Of course I may have also been a little obsessed when Ben was with J-Lo as she is one of my other favourite celebrity Jennifer. In fact “Jenny from the Block” is still my favourite music video, and I may or may not have a replica of the pink diamond engagement ring Ben gave J-Lo back in the day.
Let’s be real though, I think we can all agree though, that Ben with J-Lo = disaster, however Ben with J-Fleck = pure awesomeness.
Awesomeness that was never more evident than last weekend when the Golden Globes aired and Ben won the award for “Best Director” up against some pretty crazy competition:
And how sweet was what he said to Jen? I may or may not have become a tad choked up.
And then this happened:
Behind every great man my friends, behind every, great, man…
And when Hugh asked his wife to come up and thank anyone he’s forgotten. Ha ha ha, priceless.
Cupcake Christmas
Welcome to the first official post here on the “Life” section of Confessions of a Fitness Instructor
I’m trying to keep things more streamlined so it seemed appropriate to set up a “mirco site” within the blog where I can post things that are completely unrelated to health/fitness but that I still wanted to share. There have been many times I posted something that I felt didn’t really “fit” on the main site and other things that I wanted to post but didn’t because I didn’t want it to get to cluttered with my extra non health/fitness stuff.
Back to the post…
You can probably tell from the title of this post what this blog it all about – Cupcakes and Christmas. Most of you know I adore cupcakes. I like eating them, I like making them, I like looking at them (they are just so darned cute!). Clearly others have figured this out. I give you Cupcake Christmas!
Cupcake bath bombs,

a cupcake calendar,

a cupcake air freshener,

a cupcake memo pad (perhaps the coolest memo pad I’ve ever seen),

cupcake paperclips,

potholders in the shape of cupcakes, and pot holders with cupcakes on them,

cupcake wet wipes,

a cupcake apron (LURVE this so much!),

cupcake ornaments (I actually got one for my birthday and another for Christmas, now if I could get people to buy me 4 more it would be like I had a set of them!
),

and icing tools (to decorate cupcakes of course!)

look at all the snazzy icing I’ll be able to do now!

And let’s not forget the cupcake PJ’s I got for my Birthday

or the wool cupcake my cousin made for me.

Seriously, how cool it that?
I’m totally in love with all my cupcake goodness. Maybe next year someone will make me a cupcake throw cushion? There must be someone on esty that Makes those. Ha! I just checked, there are loads of cupcake cushions on Esty. See? I knew I couldn’t be the only one
Coming Soon
In the hopes of keeping things more streamlined up in here, I’ll be posting any miscellaneous “life” posts over here instead of on the main site. That way if you’re not interested in reading about what my cats are doing, or what movies I’ve seen recently I’m not clogging up your readers. If however, those are the types of things that float your boat you’ll be able to easily find them. It’s a total win-win!
